I, for one, appreciate this public input period. Too many times in the past decisions have been made without the knowledge or input of trail users and citizens. I hope this trend continues.

"The Park Department is looking for public input on a proposed Phase 3 of the reroute of the Bicentenial Trail in Lower Hixon Forest. ORA has completed Phases 1 & 2. You're welcome to comment, see the descriptive info from Sami below.FYI, the Friends of the Blufflands Board has been generally supportive of this reroute. We feel it avoids sensitive natural areas in the forest and gives hikers and bikers a more pleasant experience instead of a steep gravel route that's eroding. Phase 2 provided a burn break below Birch Point Prairie that decreases the effort for doing a prescribed burn on the prairie."

"Good afternoon, trail friends,
I’m writing to share a public input opportunity surrounding trail improvements in Lower Hixon. We’re working with Outdoor Recreation Alliance (ORA) to collect community feedback on Phase 3, a proposed reroute that would replace a steep section of trail with a longer, more gradual route to improve drainage, sustainability, and the experience for all users. This email has been distributed to all friends’ groups, as well as District 4 City Council Member, Larry Sleznikow. We invite you to review the proposed route and take the survey by November 6th at 5:00pm.
Learn more about the reroute: www.cityoflacrosse.org/trailinput
Take the survey: Bicentennial Reroute Phase III – Public Input
Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues, friends and anyone who may wish to submit public input.
Enjoy the day,
